Content: Reply to Inquiry Regarding the Achievements of the Asian-African Conference and Main Points for Propaganda

Comrade [Zhang] Wentian, and report to the Central Committee:

Informed through telegraph. Regarding the estimations of the achievements of the Afro-Asian conference and main points for propaganda, consult my closing remarks. The conference made its mark by affirming the common wishes of anti-colonialism, maintenance of peace, and friendly cooperation. Be cautious with the propaganda for the present moment, it would be inappropriate to over emphasize, wait until the influence of the conference has sufficiently expanded then we can be more active. Currently we should collect and research more on the reactions of various countries and prepare the appropriate counter against distorted rhetoric.

Zhou Enlai

25 April [1955]
