Conclusions from the Visit to the Syrian Arab Republic(11 to 14 October 1982)
1. The invitation for the General Secretary of the ASBP and President of the SAR, Hafez al-Assad, is to be implemented at an appropriate time.

2. The political consultations between the SED and the ASBP, as well as between the Governments of the GDR and the SAR are to proceed continuously at the various levels in order to coordinate fundamental questions of international developments and to shape bilateral relations.

3. The agreements on further development of economic relations are to be utilized in order to achieve a maximum increase of exports to the Syrian Arab Republic. According to the agreements with the Syrian side, the 7th Session of the Joint Committee for Economic and Economic-Technological Cooperation GDR - SAR has to be prepared.
