TO THE FAITHFUL COMRADE-IN-ARMS OF LENIN AND STALIN – Mikhail Ivanovich KALININ

Dear Mikhail Ivanovich!

The Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) and the USSR Council of People’s Commissars warmly greet you on the day of your 70th birthday.

The Soviet people highly appreciate your services to the Motherland as one of the prominent organizers and builders of the Communist Party and Soviet state. You have given all your conscious life, more than 50 years, to the revolutionary struggle for the interests of the workers and peasants. You were always a steadfast follower and loyal comrade-in-arms of Lenin and Stalin.

For more than 20 years you have been the leader of the supreme body of the Soviet state. While in this post you have given your strength, knowledge, and rich life’s experience for all these years as a revolutionary and Bolshevik to the cause of strengthening the alliance of workers, peasants, and intellectuals, and the consolidation of the friendship between the peoples of the Soviet Union. In this work to strengthen and elevate the Soviet state you have merited the deep respect of the entire Party and deep love of the workers of our country.

In your person the Party of the Bolsheviks and the peoples of the Soviet Union today celebrate a state figure of the Leninist-Stalinist type, [who is] principled, simple and cordial, dear to the broad masses of Soviet works, peasants, and intellectuals.

From the bottom of [our] hearts we wish you, dear Mikhail Ivanovich, many years of health for productive work for the good of our Great Homeland.
