RECORD OF A CONVERSATION
with Fidel CASTRO RUZ, Prime Minister
of the Republic of Cuba
7 March 1963
I met with F. Castro in order to pass him Cde. N. S. Khrushchev’s personal letter of 6 March.
Fidel was very pressed for time at the ORO National Leadership meeting, and therefore he invited me to his car, where I passed him the aforementioned letter. In the situation which developed he could not familiarize himself with the text of the letter and I passed him the content of the letter orally. We arranged to meet and talk another time.
Castro told about his decision in principle to go to the [Soviet] Union at approximately the time we had named, but promised to report a specific date later.
USSR AMBASSADOR IN THE REPUBLIC OF CUBA (A. ALEKSEYEV)
