RECORD OF A CONVERSATION
with Fidel CASTRO RUZ, Prime Minister
of the Republic of Cuba
7 September 1963
Today at the dacha I introduced to Fidel Castro artists of the Shevchenko Kiev Theater of Opera and Ballet, who had come to Havana at his invitation.
A warm, friendly conversation occurred between F. Castro and the artists. He asked about the artists’ plans and the program of their performance in Cuba. He gave instructions to the representatives of the Council of Culture of Cuba to take every step for the wide organization of the Theater’s concerts in Havana and all the Cuban provinces. He also recommended a concert be given for the delegates of the 7th International Congress of Architects. He invited the artists to vacation in the resort town of Varadero.
Castro thanked the Soviet organizations for granting his request to send a group of artists to Cuba and promised to attend several concerts.
