Nam Il reported by telephone that he had been appointed leader of the DPRK delegation which would take part in the funeral of GDR President Wilhelm Pieck. The delegation is leaving for Peking today and flies from Peking to Moscow on 9 September. Nam Il asked for assistance that the DPRK delegation be delivered from Moscow to Berlin tomorrow, 9 September since the funeral of Cde. Wilhelm Pieck is set for 10 September. Nam Il added that he was asking about this in a comradely fashion; a request will come from the DPRK MFA officially.

I replied to Nam Il that the necessary steps will be taken from the Embassy (a telegram was sent and I talked with DVO Chief Cde. I. I. Tugarinov via VCh).
