I visited Nam Il. We arranged for a 8-9 May joint trip to the Novo-Madonsky cement plant being rebuilt and to agricultural cooperatives of the province of North Hwanghae.
I told Nam Il that in Moscow they are expressing the opinion that it better to publish the Soviet Union's gift of an aircraft to the DPRK government after it is handed over.
Nam Il completely agreed with this opinion.
I informed Nam Il that some issues had arisen while preparing the issue about the organization of an industrial and agricultural exhibit at their request at the Ministry of Foreign Trade in Pyongyang, which will deal with the organization of exhibits abroad, namely: the type of building, permanent or temporary; this means that the Korean side will bear the expenses for the construction of the exhibit building; what is the total area and what should be the area of the exhibit halls and the floor space; the time of the opening and the duration of the operation of the exhibit.
I then informed Nam Il of some information about the Soviet exhibit in Peking. I said that all these issues were described in detail to Ri Dong-yong by Counsellor N. M. Shesterikov yesterday.
Nam Il said that these issues will be examined.
Nam Il informed [me] that Kim Il Sung and Pak Jeong-ae [Pak Jong Ae] went to the province [SIC, singular] of North Hamgyeong, Ryanggang, and Tyagon [sic] where they will spend 10 days.
I asked Nam Il to pass to Kim Il Sung Military Attaché A. A. D'yakonov's wish to inform him of the results of [his] trip to units of the 1st and 2nd Armies, and also about a number of other issues of combat and political training of the Korean People's Army.
Nam Il said that this will be done on Kim Il Sung's return.
