Senhor Presidente,

Mr. President,

I received on this day in Dakar the message dated of to-day which Your Excellency sent me. I am very much grateful for the courtesy of the information and hasten to reply in order to express my high satisfaction for the achievement of this sister Republic in an important stage in the nuclear fuel cycle.

I am aware of the exclusively peaceful intentions of the Argentine effort, which is the same that inspires Brazil. Our countries have already developed excellent cooperation on nuclear matters, and I am convinced that they will continue to work in this manner for mutual benefit and that of the economic and social development of the entire Latin American community.

In conveying to Your Excellency my most sincere wishes for your personal happiness, I avail myself of this opportunity to reiterate the assurances of my highest consideration.

João Batista Figueiredo

In his answer to Argentinian President Bignone, Brazilian President João Batista Figueiredo expresses satisfaction for the result achieved by the neighbor country.
