We report.

US aircrafts are making systemic overflights of Soviet ships on approach to the island of Cuba. Up to 50 instances of overflights of 15 Soviet ships were registered in September. The overflights are being made at critically dangerous altitudes (50-100 meters).

At 400 Moscow time 12 September the ship “Leninsky Komsomol” was twice overflown by an unidentified aircraft on its approach to the port of Nicaro. After a routine approach the aircraft crashed into the sea 150 meters from the ship and sank.

The ship “Leninsky Komsomol” arrived at the port of destination.
