I permitted the publication of an abridged speech by Churchill. I consider this a mistake because even in our printed form it turned out that the praise of Russia and Stalin by Churchill serves him to conceal [his] purposes hostile to the Soviet Union. In any event it cannot be published without your [Translator’s note: Molotov unexpectedly uses “tvoy”, the familiar form of “your” here] consent. Nº 1296/sh.
