Beirut, 6/7/1949 - No. 32
Mr Henry Harton, envoy of the American State Department, arrived day before yesterday from Damascus, and stayed with his colleague at Hotel Normandy.
I noticed heightened surveillance activities by Russian and Jewish informers seeking to know Mr Harton's movements and contacts in Syria; Nicola Venzel, his wife, and Michel Limanski worked for the Russians, and Maurice Lisiota and Boris Ezra worked for the Jews who were milling in big numbers around him.
Short document on the arrival of an American diplomat with notes on surveillance efforts by "Russian and Jewish agents."
