Beirut, Aug 9, 1949

Number 61/ I learned that the Communist Parties of Lebanon, Syria and Iraq had decided at their last meeting to condemn the Vatican’s decision (to issue a ban on members of the international Communist Parties) and consider it an intimidation to the workers and farmers unions that aims to serve the international reactionary forces and imperialists circles that is instigating war.  They are to report this decision to the Vatican’s representative.

Meanwhile, they decided to issue a memo to be distributed to communists only in order to expose the actions by the Vatican and the reasons for these actions.

Communists in Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq condemn the Vatican.
