On instructions of the First Secretary of the CC PUWP, Comrade Edward Gierek, I was in Moscow on September 8, 1978…The conversation lasted for almost two hours. On the initiative of Soviet comrades, the Polish ambassador in Moscow , K. Olszewski and Soviet ambassador to Poland Comrade B. Aristov, participated in the meeting.

5. China. Comrade Gromyko expressed his high admiration for Comrade E. Gierek's strong stance in condemning the Chinese leadership's policies. “You correctly assess and you correctly plan,” Comrade Gromyko said after I presented the content of the First Secretary's statements on this issue and our further intentions.
