Re: SOUTHERN UNIVERSITIES NUCLEAR PHYSICS INSTITUTE:
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FROM AEC OF USA.
With reference to the service letter, Z 4/10 on 28 April 1960, from the Union’s Ambassador to you and the copies of telegrams between Vienna and Washington that you have sent to me, I must inform you that since the aid was apparently intended for underdeveloped countries, the Council does not intend to proceed with a formal application for financial assistance. However, the issue of the lease of nuclear fuel for the Council’s reactor is receiving attention and a separate letter will soon be sent to you.
T. Schumann
Deputy Chairman: Council on Nuclear Power
Letter from the Deputy Chairman of the South African Council on Nuclear Power regarding an application to the United States Atomic Energy Commission for assistance.
