Soviet performers gave a concluding concert at the Large Theater at which Party and government leaders headed by Kim Il Sung attended. I was invited to the box in which Kim Il Sung and Choe Yong-geon were located.

During the performance Kim Il Sung and Choe Yong-geon expressed their satisfaction and gave high marks to the many performances. Kim Il Sung also said that the leaders of the city of Kaesong, from where the performers had just returned, also had a high opinion of the performance of the Soviet performers. At the end of the concert Kim Il Sung, Choe Yong-geon, Kim Chang-man, and Pak Seong-cheol climbed on the stage and warmly thanked the Soviet performers for the performance and gave them a basket of flowers.

During the intermission Kim Il Sung said that a "DVSSh-16 tool carrier" is being demonstrated at the Soviet exhibition in Pyongyang. He asked that our request about sending us the technical documentation for the production of this machine with the attached implements be passed on.

Kim Il Sung also said that tractors with a power of from 8 to 12 HP are produced in the Soviet Union. Kim Il Sung noted, these tractors are suitable for work in our conditions. We would also like to receive the technical documentation for these tractors.

I told Kim Il Sung that his request would be reported to Moscow. I asked Ri Jeong-ok, Chairman of the State Committee for Heavy Industry, who was present to find out tomorrow for what machines the documentation was needed and to give [the reply] to the Counsellor for Economic Issues.
