I received Bulgarian Ambassador Georgi Kostov Bogdanov at his request.

The Ambassador told about a conversation he had a few days ago with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ri Ju-sik [sic]. With respect to the Embassy security force the Ambassador said that Ri Ju-sik replied that the requirement to present documents was caused by a need to not let the hostile elements onto Embassy grounds which the Americans are sending into the DPRK from South Korea; as regards the reasons for the refusal to furnish the Embassy with some information of interest Ri Ju-sik's explanation was confused and unconvincing and he only promised to give the Embassy the necessary information about these issues in advance.

At the Ambassador's request I briefly told him about the work of the Moscow Conference of Representatives of Communist and Worker's Parties.

The film "Queen of Spades" was shown at the Embassy club for Korean arts officials. Up to 120 people in all were present. The leaders of creative organizations present at the viewing gave the film high marks and expressed cordial gratitude.

In a conversation that took place Pak Yeon-seong, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Korean-Soviet Friendship Society, said that at the order of the KWP CC the exhibits of the Soviet exhibition in Pyongyang given by the Soviet government as a gift had been transferred [as follows]: the medical equipment, to the Pyongyang Medical Institute; all the remaining exhibits, to the Kim Chaek Polytechnic Institute. It was suggested that these institutes keep the exhibits which were sent and use them for scientific training purposes.
