A ceremonial commissioning of the second phase of the Pyongyang textile works was held. A good building of the second stage of the works equipped with modern Soviet machines was built with the aid of the Soviet Union. In 1955 the textile works produced 27,000,000 meters of fabric, but a plan has been approved for 47,000,000 meters in 1956.
A rally was held before the commissioning which more than 1,000 people attended. Choe Chang-ik, Pak Jeong-ae, Pak Ui-wan, Nam Il, representatives of city Party organizations, the diplomatic corps, and newspaper correspondents were at the rally.
Choe Chang-ik make public a greeting from Kim Il Sung. Makarov spoke from the Soviet side. An inspection of the works' shops was held after the commissioning.
