No. 60
To: Minister Duk Shin Choi
From: The President
Finally I have had time to carefully read your special report or your trip to Laos.
With regard to the invitation of the Prime Minister to invite our monks to attend the 2500th birthday of Buddha, I wish you would check into that in Saigon be cause our monks have already participated in such a ceremony at Nepal last year.
In future I wish you would refrain from referring to Korea as a son of the United Nations because our country was founded long before the U,N. had even been established. Stress rather that the division of Korea was caused by American diplomacy, etc., but do not refer to our country as a son of that organization.
A letter from the President to Minister Choi asking not to refer to Korea as the "son of the United Nations."
