Letter to Czechoslovak Embassy in Moscow on Moses Bhagwan of the People's Progressive Party of British Guiana

December 2, 1960

Comrade F. Semín,

Czechoslovak Embassy, Moscow

XII/Sob. - 170

Dear Comrade!

We request to consult this matter with the international division of the Central Committee of the Soviet Communist Party:

After an International Conference of Journalists in Vienna-Baden our journalists invited to Czechoslovakia Mr. Bhagvan Mozes [sic, Moses Bhagwan], editor of Thunder, organ of the People’s Progressive Party. He asks the international division of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia for material support for the upcoming election campaign. He wanted to make the same request to the Central Committee of the Soviet Union, where he left after his visit to Czechoslovakia.

Our relations with that party until now have been minimal – having provided them with a printing press.

We want you to consult also on the character of that party because there is a lack of information in our documentation.

With comradely greetings,
[Initial]

Request for consultation with the Central Committee of the Soviet Communist Party regarding a visit to Czechoslovakia by Moses Bhagwan, a journalist and member of the People's Progressive Party of British Guiana
