Agenda Compiled by the Joint Secretariat of the Asian-African Conference
This document was made possible with support from Henry Luce Foundation
The agenda compiled by the Joint Secretariat contains some general headings and some specific items. It is suggested that the agenda should consist only of general headings. Specific issues can be discussed under their respective headings. Accordingly the following agenda would appear to be appropriate:
1. Economic Cooperation;
2. Cultural Cooperation;
3. Problems of Dependent Peoples;
4. Racial Discrimination and Racial Problems;
5. The use of Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Purposes;
6. Weapons of Mass Destruction; and
7. Promotion of World Peace and Cooperation.
The items suggested by different participating countries, if they come within the scope of the Conference, can be discussed under the above general headings.
Papers which have been received from participating countries have already been circulated by the Joint
Secretariat.
It is suggested that items l and 2 in the list above should be remitted to two Committees of officials for discussion of details and formulation of definite recommendations to be considered by the Conference.
