ITALIAN NEWSPAPERS SPREAD ABSURD RUMORS

 

ROME, 9 October (TASS). A number of Italian newspapers have published reports about a “serious illness” of Generalissimo Stalin under flashy headlines. The headlines read: in Quotidiano – Resumption of rumors about Stalin’s illness. Serious illness. Alarm in the Soviet capital. The pessimistic conclusions of specialists”; in Ricostruzione – The health of Stalin is causing serious fears; in Popolo – Stalin is seriously ill. Tribuna del Popolo – Stalin has several months to live.
