Gorbachev. There were some voices somewhere asking whether we forgot about the national liberation movement? Fidel, we remember where we came from. We came from the October, we remember our ideals and we want to cleanse them from everything that has compromised them. If those ideals are realized, it would have a tremendous impact. You were right when you told me during our conversation at the Congress that the CPSU should exercise its influence on the Socialist countries and on the Communist movement by the means of policy initiatives that are capable to open up the potential of socialism. We are acting in this spirit.
Castro. I was listening to you with big interest. These are clear and persuasive words, I would even say, brilliant words. I am sure that we will have very interesting conversations during your visit to Cuba.
Gorbachev. I hope so too.
