COMMUNIQUÉ BY THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
The government of Finland has decided today that chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Counsellor Chang Dae Hi, Second-Class Secretary of Legation Li Sang Jun [sic], Secretarial Officer Li Chon Sop [sic], and Secretarial Officer Bong In Yeng [sic] from the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea located in Helsinki are no longer personae gratae in Finland. The embassy officials have been found to have participated in activity that is at variance with Finland’s laws and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The government of Finland emphasizes that Finland considers it crucial to maintain a good continuing relationship between Finland and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Announcing the expulsion of North Korean diplomats in Helsinki due to their involvement in a smuggling operation.
