May 5, 1949	Syrian movements in Lebanon The Journalist Informer writes that Mamdūḥ Maydānī returned to Damascus on the orders of Ḥusnī Za'īm. Maydānī wanted to return to Beirut to continue and increase surveillance of Syrians and Communists in the city.
