Stozhenko, a geography professor, writes to a friend concerning komandirovka (work-related travel), science education in China, and the sometimes bad behavior of Soviet advisors in China. He warns that “gluttonous eating, sleeping in luxury rooms, and traveling in the international car at the expense of the PRC is not helping things.”

From the Journal of Gromyko, Record of a Conversation with Ambassador Ri Sin-Pal of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea

Soviet Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Gromyko records that North Korea was eager to start a nuclear program, though they insisted it was for “peaceful purposes.” The North Korean Ambassador requested Soviet scientific aid and was informed by Gromyko that the request would “undoubtedly be considered in a favorable spirit.”

The KGB and head representative of operative technical services for the Czechoslovak Ministry of the Interior agreed to a plan to continue the exchange of scientific-technical information and samples of operative technology and to convene meetings of specialists on these topics. Protocol on exchanges of workers and publications between the interior ministries of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1973

This agreement provides for workers from the governments of the CSSR and USSR to spend short amounts of time in the other's country for research purposes and to work with organizations in that country. It also outlines the exchange of various publications related to state security and criminology, giving their exact titles and the number of copies to be exchanged.
