The Gazette of the State Council of the People's Republic of China (Zhonghua Renmin Gongheguo guowuyuan gongbao; 中华人民共和国国务院公报) is a compendium of press releases and reports relating to developments in Chinese foreign and domestic policy. Published for the first time in 1955, issues of the State Council Gazette usually appeared several times each month. Entries in the gazettes offer information about Chinese foreign relations (including notices of meetings between Chinese and foreign leaders, texts of international agreements, etc.) as well as more mundane domestic administrative or economic concerns. The Gazette remained in print from 1955 until the Cultural Revolution began in May 1966. Production only resumed in 1980, four years after the Cultural Revolution ended.
