Letter to the CPSU Central Committee, Request from Radmanesh Regarding Persecution of People's Party of Iran by Iranian Authorities

Translation from the Persian

TO THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF THE SOVIET UNION

Esteemed comrades!

As you know, Cde. Doctor Mortaza Yazdi, a member of the Executive Committee of the CC of the People's Party of Iran, has been arrested for the third time in the last 15 years. Two days ago the military court of Tehran sentenced him to death. The trial of another NPI CC member Cdes. Mehendes Sharmini, who is presently in prison and is paralyzed from torture, will begin in the near future. They will unquestionably sentence him to death. The military prosecutor of Tehran is also demanding the death penalty for 14 leaders of the youth organization.

As you see, the lives of our best cadre are in danger.

The NPI CC turns to the CPSU CC with an urgent request to give any possible aid to save our dear comrades and use available opportunities to prevent a new assault by Iranian reaction. We are asking permission for Cdes. Iraj Iskanderi and Ehsan Tabari to go to Prague so that when there they could make use of opportunities and connections they have and, based on last year's experience, when we encountered the same conditions, to spread broad propaganda against the current terrorist regime in Iran. This trip will unquestionably be subject to all the rules of secrecy. It will be of great benefit to the fates of our brave comrades and to our Party.

In the expectation of immediate steps from dear comrades

With warm greetings - Radmanesh
