to Generalissimo STALIN,
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the
Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
Moscow
Having returned to Tehran Her Highness Princess Ashraf told me about her stay and the cordial hospitality of the Soviet Red Cross and especially about the honest and friendly conversation which Your Excellency had with her. This brought me great joy. [Translator’s note: the remainder of the letter was highlighted in the left margin]. The fact that, as I expected, the trip served to strengthen the friendly ties between our countries and attracted your person attention to this question is most fortunate.
I want to express my warm gratitude and pray to God for your constant happiness and flourishing of [our] great neighboring and friendly nation.
MOHAMMED REZA PAHLAVI
