Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China
My dear Comrade Premier:
I received your letter dated 22 October 1965 on the convening of the Second Asian-African Conference.
The Government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is carefully researching the situation surrounding the Second Asian-African Conference.
We believe that, in the current complex situation, if [we] convene the meeting, it will be difficult to fulfill the historic mission of strengthening the struggle against imperialism and colonialism and strengthening Asian-African solidarity.
Therefore, we believe that it would be best for the Second Asia-Africa Conference to be convened at a time when the most can be achieved.
The Government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea supports the suggestion of the Government of the People’s Republic of China to postpone the convening of the Second Asian-African Conference.
