Tehran 4 March 1946 [Translator’s note: “April” written above “March”]

 

“Mister Prime Minister, confirming receipt of your letter of 4 April 1946, I have the honor at the present time to announce that in view of the assurances you have given in the name of government of the Shah, the Soviet government expresses its agreement to the creation of a joint Soviet-Iranian Oil Company to explore and exploit the oil fields in northern Iran on the basic conditions enumerated in your letter.”

 

Sadchikov expresses the Soviet government's interest in exploring a joint oil company using Northern Iranian oil.
