TO THE CPSU CENTRAL COMMITTEE

Cde. Berezin, the representative of Soviet trade unions in the World Federation of Trade Unions (VFP) reports that Ali Javahari, a representative of the People's Party of Iran, is working in the VPF. Along with work in the Federation he performs the assignments of his leadership; in particular, he deals with settling Iranian political émigrés arriving in Vienna in the countries of people's democracy.

In the words of Cde. Berezin, Cde. Javahari does his work carelessly and possibly his activity is known to the Viennese authorities.

Fearing that the work of Cde. Javahari to place Iranian political émigrés in work might cause repression from the Austrian government against the VFP, Cde. Berezin considers it advisable to recall Cde. Javahari from the VFP staff and put him at the disposition of the Iranian friends.

We consider it advisable to inform Cde. Berezin that a recall of Javahari from the VFP staff is not being caused by a necessity but he should warn Javahari so that the latter does his work to settle Iranian political émigrés more carefully. The NPI CC has given instructions to Tehran to stop sending political émigrés via Vienna.
