February 18, 1953	TASS to CPSU on 'Anti-Soviet propaganda of the Voice of America' on Death of Lev Mekhlis This TASS information bulletin was sent to the Central Committee and the USSR Council of Ministers. Note the distribution to Stalin and Malenkov only.
October 1976	Institute for the Study of Contemporary Problems of Capitalism, 'Propaganda of Western Broadcasting Stations about the So-Called Workers' Defense Committee and the Supreme Court Sentence on the Seven Participants in the Ursus Events' This analysis by the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Problems of Capitalism indicates regime concern over RFE’s coverage of the first organized dissident movements in Poland.
January 1976	Institute for the Study of Contemporary Problems of Capitalism Report, 'Trends of Western Radio Propaganda Broadcast in Polish' This document is an example of the monthly analyses of Western broadcasting to Poland prepared by the Interior Ministry-affiliated Institute for the Study of Contemporary Problems of Capitalism (Instytut Badania Współczesnych Problemów Kapitalizmu). It is representative of the extensive cottage industry devoted to such analyses that developed in Poland in the 1970s.
February 5, 1966	Letter from Main Political Administration of the Polish Army to the Interior Minister on 'Hostile Radio Propaganda' A letter from the chief of the Polish Army Main Political Administration to the Interior Minister transmits an analysis of hostile radio propaganda prepared in the MPA for the purpose of countering "enemy propaganda" in the armed forces.
December 4, 1978	Hungarian Secretariat Report on Fight against 'Imperialist Propaganda' Report on the implementation of the Politburo resolution of May 22, 1973, concerning the need to strengthen the fight against "imperialist propaganda" (especially its emphasis on human rights) and proposals for future tasks (including concern with projected Western satellite television broadcasts).
May 22, 1973	Hungarian Central Committee Report on Fight against 'Hostile Propaganda' This Central Committee report to the Hungarian Politburo reviews efforts of Party and government organs to analyze Western broadcasting and other information programs targeted on Hungary. The report indicates the extent of the resources devoted to analyzing "hostile" information programs, criticizes as inadequate the efforts to counter "hostile propaganda" claiming to "improve socialism," and urges better coordination of counterpropaganda. The resolution of the Politburo accepting the report follows. This resolution, adopted on May 22, 1973, was declared invalid ten years later by a resolution made on October 11, 1983.
1977	Bulgarian Interior Ministry Analysis of Foreign Propaganda against Bulgaria This document provides a detailed content analysis of the programs of individual Western broadcasters. It indicates particular sensitivity to broadcasts on Helsinki-related human rights issues, to the use of recent defectors with inside knowledge, and to Radio Free Europe's focus on domestic issues.
June 25, 1980	Extract from Protocol No. 206 of the Session of the Politburo of the CC CPSU, 'Concerning Measures with Regard to the Organization Amnesty International' Extract on Amnesty International and the KGB's attempts to undermine its anti-Soviet activity. The report states that Amnesty International is funded by imperialist powers, who have the intent of placing pressure on the Soviet Union to change its human rights policies.
January 20, 1977	CC CPSU Proposal, 'On Measures for the Curtailment of the Criminal Activities of Orlov, Ginsburg, Rudenko and Ventslova' U.V. Andropov and R.A. Rudenko reported on hostile activities of anti-Soviet groups within the USSR. They stated that Western correspondents influence these organizations to openly protest the Soviet Union's policies. Finally, Andropov and Rudenko discuss preemptive measures that need to be taken in order to stop anti-Soviet propaganda disseminated by these groups.
January 5, 1977	Committee of State Security Report, 'About Measures to End the Hostile Activity of Members of the So-Called Group For Assistance in the Implementation of The Helsinki Agreements in the USSR' This report addresses the anti-Soviet organization "Group for Assistance in the Implementation of the Helsinki Agreements in the Soviet Union" led by Yuri F. Orlov and its influence in Ukraine and Lithuania. The Prosecutor General's office searched houses of several suspects and found anti-Soviet material in preparation for transportation to the West.
