December 24, 1956	Notes from a Conversation between the 1st Secretary of the PRL Embassy in the DPRK and Comrade Samsonov, 1st Secretary of the Embassy of the USSR on 20.XII.1956 The document features a conversation between Brzezinski Henryk and comrade Samsonov. To the questions of the 1st Secretary of the PRL Embassy in the DPRK, Samsonov states his opinion on the following topics: the group from the August plenum, different groups in the leadership of the DPRK, exchange of party cards, changes in economic policies, the standard of living of the population, agricultural production, Korean unification, and the role of the intelligentsia in the DPRK.
April 30, 1953	Cable from N. Spencer Barnes to US Department of State Reviewing Developments in the GDR since Stalin’s Death Barnes analyzes developments within the GDR following Stalin’s death. Although there was an initial period of confusion within the SED (Socialist Unity Party of Germany), it has been confirmed that Ulbricht is now directing SED and is continuing to implement socialization policy, though perhaps less dramatically than in the past. Barnes suggests that the Soviets may also be striving, to some extent, to decrease zonal tension.
February 3, 1958	Note from Minister M. Naszkowski, 'Regarding the Political Situation in the DPRK' M. Naszkowski reports on the December 1957 Plenum of the Korean Workers' Party Central Committee and the continued emphasis on the "August Group" during the Plenum.
1959	A Few Questions about the Details of the Worker's Party of Korea A detailed description of the economic progress of North Korea from before the war to after the war, the successes of the first five year plan including the growth statistics in areas such as electric power, coal, steel, cement, and fertilizer. The inner politics of the party is discussed, mentioning the growth of the party since the war, the demographic of the party (workers, peasants, white collar workers, and an ‘other’ section). Statistics of growth throughout the years with a section on non-card carrying members and what prevents them from being members. There is a section discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the union of the country and a promise of a better life given to the citizens living in the American-occupied south. The question section at the end that invokes elaboration on many of these topics.

July 20, 1956	Memorandum of Conversation with the head of the department of construction materials under the DPRK Cabinet of Ministers, Li Pil-gyu. Li Pilgyu holds a frank conversation about Kim Il Sung's inner circle, and where their loyalties lie. Kim Il Sung's cult of personality has created a dangerous politial and social atmosphere.
December 22, 1967	Letter from GDR Embassy in the DPRK to State Secretary Hegen The German Ambassador in the DPRK discusses domestic and foreign policy developments within the DPRK, including the cult of personality of Kim Il Sung and North Korea's relationship with China.
September 1, 1956	Memorandum of Conversation with Premier Kim Il Sung Yoon Gong-heum and others at the August Plenum speak out against the cult of personality in the KWP and reject the party line. They are expelled from the party, and those who fled are held at the Chinese border.
September 4, 1956	Memorandum of Conversation with the Ambassador of the Peoples Republic of China to the DPRK Qiao Xiaoguang Ambassador Ivanov in the DPRK speaks with PRC Ambassador on the four Koreans who spoke against Kim Il Sung that are being held at the Chinese border. Ivanov states that the Soviet Union is against criticizing Kim Il Sung.
